Residency

Residency

We have transformed the system of post graduate clinical training and specialist training at Juntendo Hospital.
Juntendo supports young physicians in achieving their dreams and shaping their medical careers, so that they can become the physicians that they aspire to be, by such means as obtaining a doctorate in medicine after completing their postgraduate clinical training, becoming a certified physician or specialist, and studying at other institutions within Japan or overseas.

CLINICAL PRACTICE

Graduate School of Medicine (Doctoral Program)

Apart from the period that coincides with postgraduate clinical training, you will receive salary and allowances for up to four years.
  1. Graduate students who have a license to practice medicine and are involved in providing medical care at Juntendo’s affiliated hospitals will be paid a salary (in accordance with the university’s provisions, with additional day duty/night duty allowances).
  2. Paid training available: You will be introduced to an external institution where you will work either once (one day) or twice (two half-days) a week, in principle.
  3. There is a scholarship system for those who enroll in the graduate school after graduating from the Faculty of Medicine at Juntendo and those who do so after completing their postgraduate clinical training at Juntendo’s affiliated hospitals.
