Application Procedures

Q.Does Juntendo University have fall (September or October) entry?
A.Yes.  Although all undergraduate programs begin in April, some graduate programs begin in October. Please refer to the following link.


Q.Can students who graduated from a university outside of Japan apply to a Juntendo University Graduate School?
A.
Yes, students who graduated from a university outside of Japan may apply. Please check the website of the Graduate School you would like to apply to for the specific requirements.

Language

Q.
Are there any programs that allow students to earn a degree in English without the need for Japanese?
A.
All undergraduate programs require varying degrees of Japanese language ability.  However, Juntendo University Graduate School offers several English-based degree programs starting in October.


Q.
Are there Japanese language requirements to apply to the undergraduate and graduate programs?
A.
The undergraduate programs require applicants take a written exam and interviews in Japanese to apply. While there is not a language requirement, without Japanese language ability applicants will not be able to take the entrance exam and interview to apply. The graduate schools and programs have different language requirements associated with their admissions procedures. Please confirm the language requirements in the application guidelines.

Can students learn Japanese after entering the university?
A.
Juntendo University provides Japanese classes at various levels in order to ensure that international students continuously study and further improve their Japanese from the time they enter the university until they graduate.

Are there paid research assistant opportunities for graduate students?
A.
Yes, students enrolled in a doctoral program may apply to become a research assistant and receive an hourly wage, while developing research skills.
