Going to School in Japan

  1. Continuing education at Juntendo University, e.g. Master Program to Doctoral Program
    • If necessary, you need to extend your period of stay.
  2. Going to any other academic institution
    • Submit the Notification of the Accepting Organization (Left the organization) (Excel ) to the Immigration Services Agency of Japan.
    • Follow the extension of period of stay instructions at the new institution

Application Procedure

1. Application for Change of Status of Residence to "Designated Activities (Job Hunting)"
Students who wish to change their status of residence to "Designated Activities (Job Hunting)" must submit an application through the Google Form below.

Notes regarding the Google Form
Please submit documents showing that you are undergoing a recruitment or selection process, rather than merely having submitted an application. Examples include:
As a guideline, please demonstrate financial support of at least JPY 900,000, calculated as JPY 150,000 per month × 6 months, to cover your living expenses during your stay in Japan.
 
2. Issuance of Recommendation Letter and Immigration Application
Once the information submitted through the Google Form has been formally reviewed and approved, a recommendation letter will be issued by your campus administrative office.
After receiving the recommendation letter, you must submit the application for a Change of Status of Residence to the Immigration Services Agency of Japan on your own.

3. Submission of Your New Residence Card
After your application has been approved and you have received your new residence card, please submit a copy of the card to your campus administrative office (or JUIC if you belong to the Hongo Campus).
 
4. Reporting Your Post-Graduation Status
After changing your status of residence, you are required to report your post-graduation plans (employment, further education, return to your home country, etc.) to your campus administrative office (or JUIC if you belong to the Hongo Campus).
Once your future plans have been finalized, please submit the information through the Google Form below.
