The Master’s Program educates professionals with the transdisciplinary and interdisciplinary knowledge required to build a sustainable global society. Rather than separating the humanities and sciences, the program fosters individuals with a sophisticated intellectual foundation and the ability to take a wide-angle perspective across multiple disciplines.

    Global Communications Area of Study

    This specialization cultivates professionals capable of independently identifying and solving global issues through interdisciplinary knowledge of global communications. Graduates are prepared to contribute to a multilingual and multicultural society by addressing increasingly complex global challenges.

    Global Health Services Area of Study

    This specialization develops global health professionals who can respond to critical healthcare challenges, including pandemics, the diversification of diseases in aging populations, and inequities and inefficiencies in health systems worldwide.

Through interdisciplinary integration of the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences—with a particular focus on public health and international health—the program contributes to solving global and local issues and advancing sustainable societies.

    This innovative program systematically integrates interdisciplinary and specialized knowledge to address advanced global issues. While interdisciplinary PhD programs are common internationally, they remain rare in Japan.
    Graduates earn the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in International Liberal Studies, reflecting the program’s pioneering interdisciplinary approach.
